Teignmouth’s Ryan Whitlock bowed out on a high with the England junior team as they won the British Isles U25 Series in Bristol. In his final year at U25 level, Whitlock was unbeaten alongside (above) Torquay United clubmate Harry Goodwin, skip and England captain Jamie Walker (with trophy) and Exonia player Joe Melmore from Newton Abbot. In the defeat of Wales 88-61, the England rink scored a five on the final end to draw 19-19, and in England’s 79-55 victory over Ireland they won 17-14. The title decider against Scotland saw England worthy 90-62 winners, with Whitlock’s rink coming from 9-0 down to win 21-13.
