RESIDENTS in Teignmouth have been sipping some rather unusual tasting water this week.
Some homeowners and businesses in the town centre area claim to have had a chlorine taste left in their mouthes after drinking from the taps.
A spokesman for South West Water said: ‘We would like to reassure customers in Teignmouth that the water supply is now returning to normal.
‘We first received reports of a chlorine taste in the water Wednesday lunchtime, which we believe is related to a recent burst main in the area.
‘We have flushed our network and recommend that any customers who are still experiencing an unusual taste run their taps for a short while.’
Any concerned customers can contact the water company on 0344 346 2020.
