THE body of a man was pulled from the water at Dawlish Warren.
The discovery of the man, in his 70s, yesterday afternoon came after police were called to a report of concern for the welfare of a man in the water.
Emergency services were called in but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed.
His death is not being treated as suspicious by police and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall police said officers had been notified just before 2pm of reports of a concern of welfare of a man in the water at Dawlish, Devon.
‘Emergency services attended the scene where the body of a man was pulled from the water on the Dawlish Coastline.’
RNLI lifeboats from Teignmouth and Exmouth also attended the incident, responding to calls to the coastguard from a member of the public.
