A ROUTINE eye test saved the sight, and probably the life, of a 39-year-old woman.

It is the second time Specsavers at Teignmouth has spotted a potentially fatal condition, and Heather Pearce declared: 'I cannot thank them enough.

'I was suffering ill health but it was not until the eye test that the real problem was diagnosed.'

Ms Pearce, who works as a domestic at Trinity School, Teignmouth, and lives at Dawlish Warren, was suffering severe headaches, blurred vision and other symptoms when she visited the Bank Street store for a regular check-up.
