NEW, simplified bus fares have come into force across Teignbridge routes.

Stagecoach South West has introduced new fares and travel zones to bring a clearer and more consistent pricing structure to the region.

The changes are designed to make bus travel easier to understand, better value, and more aligned with how people actually travel around the region.

The updated fare structure and ticket boundaries should create a fairer and more consistent system.

Each of the four key local zone areas will now be covered by a consistent 10-mile radius, giving more people access to unlimited travel without hitting previous boundary issues.

Simplified local zones mean fares across zones have been aligned, making costs more predictable wherever you travel.

There are now four areas; Greater Exeter, Plymouth, North Devon and Torbay, which are covered by a 10-mile radius.

This creates a more consistent system, ensuring customers just outside the previous zone boundaries have the same unlimited travel options as those within them.

For example an adult day ticket on the new local zone fare is £6.50 and £4.30 for a child. weekly, monthly and term time tickets are also available.

For Teignbridge travellers, the new Torbay Zone runs as far as Dawlish Warren and Heathfield and the Greater Exeter Zone runs to Lady’s Mile Caravan Park, Ideford and Finlake Holiday Park.

Peter Knight, Managing Director of Stagecoach South West, said: ‘By making travelling by bus simpler and more consistent, we’re providing easier to understand fares together with better value for money regular and flexible travel; whilst offering attractive discounts for longer term travel.

‘With an easy-to-use journey planner, customers will never pay more than they need, while our services continue to connect communities right across the South West. We’ve got you.’

The new 10-mile local zones make it easier to travel between communities, better reflecting key travel patterns without crossing previous fare boundaries.

These changes ensure customers benefit from a clearer, more transparent fare structure and wider area of travel coverage.
