MORE than 3,500 visitors are expected to cruise to Dawlish for this year’s American Car Show.

Now in its eighth year, the popular show will feature classic cars, live music, entertainment and family fun.

More than 200 American vehicles will be on display including Mustangs, Cadillacs, Chevrolets, Pontiacs, Buicks, and Jeeps.

The show, held at Cofton Holidays, is now the largest of its kind in the south west and is a firm favourite with motor enthusiasts and families alike.

Owners of American cars will be bringing their pride and joy to the show which takes place from Friday June 20 to Sunday June 22.

On Saturday morning, the show kicks off with a cruise through Dawlish and along the seafront to Dawlish Warren, giving passers-by the chance to catch a glimpse of the vehicles as they parade by.

Owners can enter their cars into the judging, with trophies up for grabs including Best in Show, Cofton’s Choice, Best Custom, and the People’s Choice Award.

A full programme of entertainment will run across the weekend, with live music, children’s activities, street food, and more.

Food lovers can enjoy a range of street food vendors offering local and international flavours, while a fully licensed marquee bar provides the perfect spot to relax with a drink.

There will be live music throughout the weekend, with performances from Rockin’ The Joint, Elvis tribute Adam Carter, and Dolly Parton tribute Carrie-Anne. Local singer-songwriter Rich Cottell will also be taking to the stage.

On Saturday evening, the entertainment continues with a thrilling fire show at 6pm, followed by a fireworks finale.

Families will find plenty to keep the kids entertained, including movie prop cars such as the Back to the Future DeLorean and the Ghostbusters Ecto-1, plus a huge inflatable fun zone featuring bouncy castles and an assault course.

Children can also enjoy balloon modelling, circus skills, face painting, and lively performances from the Cofton Crew, featuring Digby the Dinosaur.

Four-legged family members are also welcome, with the return of the popular ‘Crofts’ Dog Show on Saturday afternoon with a variety of fun categories to enter and rosettes to be won.
