A MURDER inquiry has been launched after a man’s body was found in Teignmouth yesterday (sun).
Police and paramedics were called to Barnpark Terrace after the discovery just before 8am.
A police spokesman said today (mon): ‘The presentation of the scene was such that the man’s death was regarded as suspicious.’
The crime scene was cordoned off as detectives from the force’s Major Crime Investigation Team examined the area.
The spokesman said two Teignmouth men, aged 52 and 51, had since been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Both are being quizzed in police custody.
Formal identification of the dead man has yet to be confirmed. His details, including his age, are not being released. It’s thought he may have been in his 20s.
Local residents reported seeing a man lying in the road in front a car.
The police spokesman said: ‘Next of kin are being sought.’
The South Devon coroner is being informed of the tragedy.
