TWO fire engines were required to tackle a chimney fire in Combeinteignhead on Saturday evening.

Additional support was scrambled from Teignmouth after the first appliance arrived at the scene of the fire, which was reported just before 6.00pm.

Firefighters used various ladders and specialist chimney equipment to put the flames out and make the building safe.

It is believed that the cause of the blaze involved an electronic extractor fan.
