THE top two teams in the South Devon & Torbay Table Tennis League secured a pair of fine away wins in the latest chapter of action.
The NA Buzzards, with Kevin Nicholls and Herbie Sage maximums, defeated NA Eagles 9-1, while an Aarish Maharjan maximum led Brixham Sharks to an 8-2 victory at Halwell.
Both Mark Morley and Pawel Juraszczyk were unbeaten as NA Owls continued their fine start to the season with a 9-1 victory over NA Ravens.
Brixham Trawlers, at the top of the second division, just edged a 6-4 win over Torre Vikings thanks to an excellent maximum from Issy Brown.
Teignmouth Aces moved into second spot with a comprehensive 9-1 victory over Torbay Academy 2, Mark Sharratt and Mitch Bellham were undefeated for the victors.
New leaders of the third division, NA Kestrels, had a Richard Hathaway maximum to thank for their 7-3 victory over previously unbeaten NA Kites.
An all round team effort from Brixham Gulls saw them to a 6-4 win over Taverners and they are level on points at the top, only trailing the leaders by matches won
Fourth division leaders, Grove Tigers, remain unbeaten but needed the final doubles to secure a 6-4 win over Teignmouth Delinquents, Nigel Langley with another fine maximum for the Tigers. Doug Morgan, again unbeaten for NA Merlins, helped his side to a 7-3 win at Torbay Academy 7.
NA Vultures, with Dale Fabian undefeated, shared the points with Brixham Seals. An Andy Clitheroe maximum for Teignmouth Delinquents wasn’t enough for victory as opponents NA Ospreys took the spoils 6-4.
