A total of nine Kennick Fly Fishers made the trip to Hawkridge Reservoir on the edge of the Quantock Hills in Somerset for round four of the Snowbee Top Rod.

The weather was sunny, with light variable winds, and between them the anglers caught 20 fish for a bag weight of 49lbs 8oz.

The average catch was 2.2 per rod and average weight was 2.47lbs.

Hawkridge is stocked with several different types of fish and landed were rainbows, blues, one Arctic char and a couple of spartic trout (cross between brook and char).

The winner was Robert Gale of Buckfastleigh with five fish for 12lbs 5oz; second Darren Penfold of Liverton with five fish for 10lbs 12oz; third John Hern of Exeter with four fish for 10lbs 10oz; fourth Jeremy Summers of Exmouth with two fish for 5lbs 9oz; fifth Andy Gooding of Liverton with two fish for 3lbs 13oz; sixth Mike Boston of Torquay with one fish of 3lbs 8oz (best of the day).
