Maverick Runners fielded an impressive 11 competitors at the Templer Ten running race on Sunday.

Organised by the Teignbridge Trotters, this ten-mile event has been an annual favourite on the local running scene. However, this year it saw a change of venue and course, with the start and finish at Stover School.

It proved an excellent event venue, with full facilities and perfect access to a near traffic free-course.

The start of the course, which followed two laps around the school grounds, allowed for ideal spectator support and a thus a thrilling first couple of miles.

Runners then went through Stover Park and on to Teigngrace, before heading down the Stover Way cycle path and back up the Templer Way alongside the River Teign.

The final few miles followed the Stover Way back to the country park, before a lap of Stover Lake, and then a return through the muddy woods and back into the school grounds, with the final mile being an uphill struggle.SEE FRIDAY'S PAPER FOR FULL STORY.
