LADIES’ DAY: Racing’s ‘social pinnacle’ back after two years
THE social pinnacle of the racing season, Ladies’ Day, is set to return to Newton Abbot Racecourse on Tuesday, June 21 with a highly anticipated evening fixture.
Following a two-year break due to Covid-19 restrictions, one of the most-popular fixtures of the year is back. Ladies are invited to don their finest frocks and pop on their best hats for the chance to walk away with the highly coveted titles of Best Dressed Lady and Best Hat.
This year the racecourse has once again teamed-up with a selection of local companies to offer some top prizes for the winners and finalists.
This year’s Best Dressed Lady is set to be pampered with a spa day for four people courtesy of Sports Clinic and Wellness Rooms, plus a bouquet of flowers from Albany Florists.
Second place will receive a beautiful jewellery set, courtesy of Silver Circle Jewellery, while the third-place runner-up will take home a bottle of Prosecco.
Part of the beauty of Ladies’ Day is seeing all the wonderful hats and this year’s Best Hat winner will leave as a happy lady, with a delicious Tarquin’s Cornish Gin Gift set from St Austell Brewery and more beautiful flowers from Albany Florists.
Speaking ahead of the return of Ladies’ Day, managing director Patrick Masterson, said: ‘Ladies’ Day is one of our most popular fixtures of the year and we’re delighted to be able to host it once again after our two-year break.
‘Alongside the evening’s seven-race card, the added excitement of who will walk away with the 2022 title of Best Dressed Lady and Best Hat will always add an extra buzz to the evening.
‘Whether you’re a regular at the races or joining us for the first time, you’re sure to have an evening to remember.’
Tickets for this year’s Ladies’ Day at Newton Abbot Racecourse are on sale now, with discounts available on Paddock admission when booking in advance.
