Throgmorton Devon County Premier Cup – First Round

TEIGNMOUTH 4, BRIXHAM 1

Teignmouth cruised to a comfortable win against Brixham in this county cup tie but it was the visitors who drew first blood scoring in the early stages from a corner. Teigns levelled when right-back Steve Shrubb broke forward and finished well after a great run.

Both sides cancelled each other out for the remainder of the first half, meaning no addition to the score.

Teigns stepped up a gear in the second half and Ryan Bush put them ahead confidently beating the Brixham keeper in a one-on-one. Hayden Roe headed home a corner to give Teigns a two-goal cushion and Ben Smith came off the bench to good effect scoring the fourth goal to put the seal on a dominant second half performance from the home side.

Tomorrow, Teigns are in cup action again journeying to mid-Devon to face Holsworthy in the second round of the Walter C Parson Cup. Kick-off 2.30pm.
