A goal from Nick Edmunds five minutes before the break was enough to give Liverton United victory over high-flying Budleigh Salterton.

The three points secured in a battling performance was enough to lift them off the bottom of the Division One East table.

Elsewhere, Teignmouth went down 5-1 away at Ilfracombe Town, while St Martins took advantage of leaders Newton Spurs inactivity to draw level on points but behind on goal difference with a 1-0 win away at Galmpton & Roselands.

In the Devon Premier Cup quarter-finals, East Division side and cup holders University of Exeter beat West Division outfit Plymstock United 8-0 to set up a sem- final game against Torridgeside.

Bovey Tracey and Newton Abbot Spurs play their quarter-final tie tomorrow.

In the league, Teignmouth are home to University of Exeter, while Liverton United make the trip to Honiton, both games kicking-off at 3pm.
