BOVEY Tracey AFC and Teignmouth AFC experienced very different weekends ahead of their midweek meeting in the South West Peninsula League.

The Moorlanders extended their strong start by beating Middlezoy Rovers 3-0 at Mill Marsh Park.

Just one goal separated the pair for a long stretch of this fixture, recent arrival David Rowe getting the ball rolling within the first 15 minutes.

Stuart Bowker squandered a golden opportunity to double the Bovey lead, striking the crossbar with his penalty attempt.

Fellow forward Oli Aplin was able to confirm the three points though, scoring twice late on to add to his personal tally.

Teignmouth were also at home and they crossed paths with high-flyers Bridport FC.

Bridport made their dominance known, netting seven times to retain top-spot emphatically and boost their goal difference too.

A few days prior, the Teigns did come from behind to win away at Stoke Gabriel & Torbay Police so it would be unfair to paint a solely negative picture.

Now, Teignmouth will visit Bovey on Tuesday evening before the pair face Cullompton Rangers and Axminster Town respectively on the weekend.
