TEIGNMOUTH AFC fell to an eighth defeat of their South West Peninsula League campaign to date on Saturday, October 18.
Liam Jones’ side hosted Middlezoy Rovers at Coombe Valley knowing a win would see them leapfrog the team from Somerset but it wasn’t to be.
Liam Gilbert and Eddie Townsend scored the goals as The Zoy prevailed 2-0, moving them into 11th with 13 points from 10 games to date.
Recent wins away at Bishops Lydeard and Torrington AFC are causes for optimism but this weekend’s result makes it five home games without a win, their only success on their own patch this season coming against rock-bottom Axminster Town.
There is no better time than the present for this to change though as their next three games are all in Teignmouth, Crediton United visiting at the end of October before Torridgeside AFC and Stoke Gabriel & Torbay Police come to town in November.
