The Super Singles League took precedence over team competitions as the league programme made way for the third round of the individual competition, writes Tony Halse.

Patrik Cincala still leads Division One despite being beaten for the first time in the competition, by Kevin Nicholls.

Adam Shipway’s win over Kevin Nicholls meant three wins each for Cincala, Nicholls and Shipway at the top.

On points countback, Cincala is top and Nicholls second. However, following his successes in the first two rounds, Cincala has a comfortable lead. Chris Dunn and Mick Mercer are relegated to Division Two.

Division Two was won by an inspired Jim McIvor, who remained unbeaten, and Kelvin Cheung as runner-up will join McIvor in Division One for round four.

Mark Smith took Division Three by storm, winning all his matches comfortably. Daniel Webster-Hall finished runner-up and will be promoted with Smith.

Division Four was tight, with all but one match going to five sets.

Nick Williamson and Stuart Shipley finished with three wins each, with Williamson finishing top due to his victory over Shipley.
