THERE is still time for local traders, makers and charities to apply for a stall at this year’s Teignmouth Christmas Market, with more spaces available than ever before.
Organised by Teignmouth Town Council, the festive event will take place on Saturday, November 28, from 10.30am to 6pm, across The Triangle, Wellington Street and Bank Street.
The market will form part of a day of free festive entertainment for the public, with live music, Santa’s Grotto and fun fair rides planned.
The activities are being funded by Teignmouth Town Council as part of efforts to bring some Christmas magic to the town.
Traders have three locations to choose from, with standard pitches costing £35 at The Triangle, £35 on Wellington Street and £30 on Bank Street.
Reduced rates are available for charity stalls, costing £20 at The Triangle and Wellington Street and £15 on Bank Street.
Stallholders can also hire a gazebo for an additional £30.
Each pitch measures three metres by three metres and traders are limited to one pitch each.
The council is particularly encouraging businesses and organisations considering taking part to apply soon, while spaces remain available.
There are some restrictions on what can be sold.
The market is not accepting bookings for food stalls selling food for immediate consumption, although traders selling pre-packaged food are welcome to apply.
Depending on the type of stall, applicants may need to provide public liability insurance, risk assessment and, for pre-packaged food sellers, a personal food hygiene certificate, food safety rating and food allergies list.
Charity stalls will also need to provide their charity number.
With plenty of time still available before the festive event, traders interested in securing a pitch are being urged to get their applications in and become part of Teignmouth’s Christmas celebrations
