High tide levels combined with strong winds and large waves mean that flooding is expected during the morning tide on Sunday.

In a statement the Environment Agency said: ’Flooding to low lying areas of the Teign estuary is likely to affect roads and isolated properties. Predicted astronomical tide level is 2.43mAOD. Forecast surge height is 0.22m resulting in total tide height of 2.59mAOD, wind direction is from the South East and wind strength is Force 6.’

Time of high water on Sunday, April 10, is 9:30am with offshore wave heights of 6m forecast. It is anticipated that conditions are likely to apply 1-2 hours either side of high water.
