A CAT survived three weeks of wild wet, windy and freezing weather in the open after being trapped by barbed wire.

A Teignmouth family had virtually given up hope of ever seeing Puss in Boots again after he went missing.

But he was found 'just alive' in a nearby field by a police community support officer, and is now making a good recovery.

Jen Hutchens, of Admirals Walk, said the one-year-old family pet was 'just skin and bones' when discovered, and it was touch and go whether he would live.
