STREET food business Lemon Jelli Events has started to provide free hot drinks and food to front line key workers.
But the team aims to get out and about as much as possible to visit as many key worker sites.
‘Instead of buying a regular coffee shop drink,’ said Paul Brealey, owner of Lemon Jelli, ‘we have been asking our supporters to donate the price of a coffee to our Just Giving Fund so our team can carry on providing hot drinks and food to the brilliant NHS staff who are working so hard to keep us all safe.
‘We are overwhelmed with the love and support the local community has shown as we raise money to ensure we can keep giving key workers in the NHS a pick-me-up coffee and crepe.
‘Our staff are all working for free so we just need to be able to cover some of the costs.’
The appeal has already raised £1,000 in less than a week and the team is looking to visit more key worker sites over the next few weeks. The team would be happy to visit any key worker emergency service sites over the next few weeks if readers nominate a site.
One van is stationed at Newton Abbot Hospital for the next few weeks to provide lunches for the medical staff and visitors to the hospital while the hospital canteen is closed.
