AN Ashburton man has denied stalking a woman and assaulting a police officer.

Alexander Henderson, aged 40, of West Street, pleaded not guilty to following a course of action that amounted to stalking by contacting the woman by electronic means directly and indirectly.

He also pleaded not guilty to a charge of assaulting by beating PC Dan Jenkins, an emergency worker, in the course of his duty.

He was remanded on bail until February 15 for a case management hearing at Plymouth Magistrates’ Court.
