THE £57,000 spent on shifting 10,000 tonnes of sand on Teignmouth beach to shore up flood defences was a waste of money, it has been claimed.

Reader Sean Brogan, in a letter to the Post, says most of the sand moved from the end of The Point to the edge of the car park in October, has now disappeared in the winter storms.
