COCKWOOD Primary School was ablaze with colour for the end of term production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.

Held at Teignmouth School’s auditorium, the show was performed by Year 6 pupils, helped by those in Year 4 and 5.

Headteacher Alison Roper said: ‘What a wonderful way to end such a busy term.

'It was a real showcase of talent and hard work that left the audience captivated.

‘Our pupils have truly excelled.

‘The pupils performed an impressive 23 songs, telling the story of Joseph and his brothers with fabulous dance routines and a wonderful array of colourful costumes.

‘None of this would have been possible without the generosity and support of so many people.

‘We are very grateful to Crediton Operatic and Dramatic Society for lending us the wonderful drapes which had been supplied by Sonic Nights in Uffculme for the foyer and material to drape at the side of the stage.’

The show was also supported by Roger and Annie Kirk from the Helen Foundation and Ella Phipps Grant funding.

And teacher Laura Mitchell was praised for ‘working tirelessly’ to put the show together.

Ms Roper said: ‘Her dedication and vision have been instrumental in creating such a memorable experience for our pupils.

'This performance was a real moment for our Year 6s to step up and take the limelight, and they did so brilliantly. Well done to all involved.’
