ESSENTIAL work to improve an overbridge along the B3193 got underway today (APRIL 3).
Workers on the bridge over the A38 will be tasked with replacing joints, parapets and safety barriers as well as improving the drainage system and resurfacing the road and footpath.
Most of the work will be carrier out during the day, with a 30mph speed restriction and traffic lights in place, but overnight closures will be taking place.
Tonight the bridge will be closed, and again on April 27 and from June 13 to 17, from 8pm until 6am.
The A38, which runs beneath the bridge, is expected to be closed from May 20 until 22 and on June 19, with a diversion in place. Throughout the work a separately signed diversion will be in place for buses and HGVs and pedestrian access will be maintained across the bridge.
