ONE band who will be performing in Teignbridge this year, were celebrating after picking up a Brit Award at last night’s ceremony.

Coldplay, who will be performing at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend at Powderham Castle in May, opened the show with a performance and later scooped up a Brit in the British Group category.

Ellie Goulding, who will also be at the big weekend, was up for two awards, the Best British Single and British Artist Video of the Year, but failed to take any home.

Dominating the Brits last night was Adele who grabbed four awards.

The redhead from Tottenham won the British Single with Hello, British Album of the Year with 25, British Female Solo Artist and the Global Success Award.
