POLICE are issuing an urgent warning about a rise in incidents involving young people using vapes that contain ‘Spice’.

A dangerous synthetic cannabinoid, Spice is illegal and unpredictable and when consumed through vaping, its effects can be even more rapid and harmful.

A spokesperson for Devon & Cornwall Police said: ‘These vapes may look like ordinary e-cigarettes, but they are being laced with substances that can cause severe health effects — including hallucinations, paranoia, seizures, and unconsciousness.

‘We are working closely with schools, youth services, and health professionals to keep our young people safe.

‘If you have any information about the distribution of these dangerous vapes, please report it confidentially via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or contact the police directly on 101 or via email’.
