POLICE investigating the death of a man in Chudleigh on Christmas Day are appealing for dashcam footage.
Inquiries are continuing into the man’s death which is being treated by officers as unexplained.
Police were called to the rural property to the north of Chudleigh at 10.50am on Christmas Day following concerns for a man.
The man, aged in his 80s, was found inside the property and was confirmed dead at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed.
Detective Inspector Edward Vallins said in a statement that a heightened police presence will remain in the area in the ‘coming days’.
He also appealed for any dashcam footage.
He said: ‘We would like to hear from anyone who has dashcam footage from Marsh Lane, Chudleigh, between 8pm on Wednesday December 24 and 11am on Thursday December 25.
‘The death is currently being treated as unexplained, and we are working with the fire service to establish the circumstances of this incident.
‘There will continue to be a heightened police presence in the coming days as our enquiries are ongoing.’
