HOPES are high that Heathfield’s defunct youth club can be revived as Bovey Tracey town council and Heathfield residents have joined forces to forge a come back.
The facility at Battle Road opened in 2010 but shut down when Devon Youth Services withdrew funding four years later.
After the club shut, the portable cabins which were used for the popular evening youth sessions became the target for vandals.
Now the town council is keen to restart youth provision on the site.
It has submitted an application to planners to vary conditions of the planning permission to allow the cabins to be used for a further three years.
