A PETROL station off the A38 could install an electric vehicle charging point if planners approve new plans.

Submitted by Motor Fuel Group (MFG), the application - reference 26/00751/FUL - is seeking permission for two electric vehicle (EV) charging points, with four electric vehicle bays at Telegraph Hill Service Station.

The application is also seeking permission to remove and replace the existing jet wash, air unit and vacuum unit.

Teignbridge Council are due to make a decision by June 25

The covering letter for the application says: ‘MFG’s proposal to install new EV charging points at the petrol filling station site should be considered positively in light of the national context and the demand for the necessary infrastructure to support electric vehicle use across the UK.

‘The proposals will contribute positively to the existing EV charging network, to the benefit of those utilising the strategic highway network surrounding the application site.

‘The proposals will enhance the existing offer at the site, without compromising the efficient operation of the facility’.
