OYEZ! Town criers from far and wide will be in Newton Abbot this morning (Saturday) to compete in the Town Criers Competition.

From 10.15am to 2pm the event will centre around the town’s Courtenay Street.

Newton Abbot Town Crier, Nigel Kenneison, will declare the event open.

Newton Abbot Mayor, Cllr Mike Joyce, will be on hand to give a warm welcome to the town criers and guests in the town.

Also, St Leonard’s Clock Tower will be open for tours throughout the day.
