CARNIVAL week kicked off in Bovey Tracey on Saturday with the Picnic in the Park, and the weather couldn’t have been better.

Thousands of people turned out to enjoy a funfair, good food and live music at the town’s Mill Marsh Park for the traditional start to eight days of fun.

The event went on long into the night with music from The Falling Skies, Banned Brothers and The Josh Wheaton Band, with headliners Alpha Tide returning for a fifth time.
