ASHBURTON Delicatessen cooked up a success after winning more awards to add to its collection.

The family business run by chef Robin Hudson and his mother Sue was opened in 2012.

Talking about the success of the shop Ms Hudson said: ‘We were absolutely thrilled to receive the first Love the Flavour award in 2013 as we had not even been open a year at the time.

‘It gave us and the staff here a huge boost and winning two years in a row was so exciting and really helped our reputation which hopefully brought more customers to the shop and to lovely Ashburton.’

The deli was shortlisted for the same award this year making it three years in a row.

Ms Hudson explained: ‘We did not make a hat-trick of three years running at the Love of Flavour awards, but it was a huge compliment to be shortlisted again.

‘The icing on the cake, however, was definitely last week when we won the Best Speciality Retailer/Delicatessen at the Taste of the West Awards.

‘The success of the Ashburton Delicatessen has not only brought huge personal satisfaction of knowing we are doing a really good job but it is wonderful to see how our terrific team have blossomed and to see what pride they take in the ethos of the shop.’
