TEIGNMOUTH'S mayor, Cllr Dave Matthews, is asking readers for nominations for a special 'recognition award' he is sponsoring.

It is open to outstanding individuals and groups who improve the life of others in the town.

Their work will be recognised at a special evening hosted by Cllr Matthews, who said: 'There are so many unsung heroes in our town who do a tremendous amount to help and befriend the elderly, infirm or lonely, and I want to make sure their behind the scenes efforts are given the credit they deserve.'
