A MAN has been remanded in custody for a series of shoplifting and fraud offences.
Joseph Wakefield, 28, whose address was given as a car park in Garfield Road, Paignton, has pleaded guilty to a number of charges.
He pleaded guilty to fraud for the sale of an electric bike on Facebook worth £215 on March 3.
He further admitted shoplifting from Austins department store in Newton Abbot of £545 worth of fragrance on March 3 and again on March 7 of £1,067.50 worth of fragrance.
He pleaded guilty to another charge of shoplifting of £616 of fragrance from Austins on March 14.
He also admitted fraudulently using a debit card belonging to someone else to buy scratch cards valued at £65, tobacco worth £10.90, a £25 mobile phone top-up and £80 cash at Morrisons on November 25 2021.
On June 24 2021, he also attempted to steal alcohol to the value of £176 from Morrisons in Paignton and on the same day, tried to use a bank card not belonging to him to buy more alcohol and cigarettes.
Wakefield was remanded in custody by magistrates for sentence.
