A MAN in his twenties has been arrested on multiple charges, including possession of a knife, after a car was found on its side along a Newton Abbot road.

Police were called shortly before 10pm on Monday, April 14, following a report of a vehicle on its side along St Marychuch Road, near Haccombe Cross.

Officers attended the scene and later located two men.

‘One of the two men, a man in his 20s from Torquay, was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs, handling stolen goods and possession of a knife or bladed article’ a spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said.

He was taken to hospital for treatment, police said.
