A MAN from Newton Abbot has denied two charges of child cruelty.

The 28-year-old is alleged to have ill-treated, neglected or abused the children in July 2019.

He also denied controlling and coercive behaviour in which he threatened violence against has partner in the months leading up to that date.

He pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis with intent to supply and possession of a prohibited weapon when he appeared at Exeter Crown Court.

Both offences were committed on July 7, 2019.

The man, who cannot be named because it would identify the children, was remanded on bail and a date of March 27, 2023, was set for his trial by Recorder Mr Mathew Turner.
