A KEY road in and out of Newton Abbot will close for several months as the final phase of work to improve the A382 gets underway.

Devon County Council’s interactive roadworks map shows Bovey Tracey Road A382 will close from September 1, 2025 until June 30, 2026.

The map also shows that Ringslade Road will close from September 1, 2025 until July 30, 2027.

There will be no access to Exeter Road, heading toward Teigngrace, from the A382 while work is carried out.

The closures are to allow for the next phase of improvement work to the A382 - the Jetty Marsh link road scheme.

Phase 3 involves construction of a single carriageway between the Trago Mills roundabout and Forches Cross, as well as an upgrade of the junction at Forches Cross, including a signalised crossing.

The work also involves a new shared use path along the A382 and improvements at Whitehill Cross and Churchills Roundabout.
