A SHALDON primary school pupil has scooped an award for her contribution to the arts.
Eleven-year-old JD-Lee Cooke was awarded the accolade for ‘best endeavour in the arts’ by The Helen Foundation.
It is presented in a number of schools across Teignbridge to children who have demonstrated an exceptional contribution to the arts in the area.
Annie Kirk, a Helen Foundation trustee, said: ‘We are really delighted to hear of JD’s success.
‘Her mum, Charley, shed tears of joy when she heard that her daughter had won the award.’
See yesterday’s Teignmouth Post [15/07/16] to read one of JD’s poems.
