A WILDLIFE rescue charity based in Newton Abbot is celebrating a major milestone after helping more than 6,000 hedgehogs since launching.

ELM Wildlife, located at Seale Hayne, provides rescue and rehabilitation services for injured and sick hedgehogs from across the community.

The organisation responds to emergency call-outs, giving vulnerable animals a safe place to recover, before returning them to the wild.

Specialist care, treatment and rehabilitation are provided to help hedgehogs regain their strength and health.

The charity has rescued 6,600 hedgehogs since launching in 2019.

ELM Wildlife has thanked supporters for their continued backing, saying community support plays a vital role in protecting local hedgehog populations and conserving wildlife for future generations.
