A FLAT fire in Torquay saw firefighters from Dawlish called into action last week.
Crew from Dawlish Fire Station were mobilised on Friday afternoon (March 13) following a ‘Make Pumps 4’ request over the radio.
The crew immediately headed for Torquay, where their colleagues from Torquay and Paignton were dealing with a fire on the third floor of an an apartment complex.
Firefighters used a hose reel jet and an attack jet to extinguish the fire, which is believed to have started by accident.
Crews carried out ventilation, as well as checking on neighbouring properties before the situation was concluded.
The Dawlish crew returned to the town’s fire station at Oak Hill just after 8pm.
