THE Buckfastleigh Emergency Response Team, a consortium of local organisations initiated by Buckfastleigh Town Council, has created a Community Volunteer Form.

The initiative by the town of Buckfastleigh and neighbours Ashburton, is a joint effort between the two communities to ensure a method for safe delivery of urgent supplies.

Please call if you are self isolating and need help with food or medications or are struggling for any reason in this extraordinary situation.

There is a new phone number, 01364 255819, which has five incoming lines – if it is engaged, please try again in a few minutes.

‘Let’s work together to keep everyone safe,’ says Buckfastleigh Mayor Andy Stokes.

Mid-Devon Advertiser Ambassador Sandra Perraton says: ‘I am always proud of initiatives that happen in the little town of Buckfastleigh and our neighbours, Ashburton.

‘There is a joint effort between the two communities to ensure a method for safe delivery of urgent supplies (both food and medicine), and a blanket leaflet distribution to every house in town. This has taken hours and hours of time and proof of its success is that Teignbridge are using it as a beacon project for a wider Teignbridge council response.
