A PARK homes community in Bovey Tracey has been told it faces an 18-month wait before the main road to their estate reopens.
Ashburton Road, which runs past New Park, has been closed after a landslip and a disused mining tunnel under the road was found to be in danger of collapsing.
Many of the park’s residents are in their 70s and 80s, and a number have limited mobility.
A spokesman said they rely on food deliveries and visiting health services, which may be impacted by the closure with its associated six-mile detour.
