TRAIN lines have reopened following a fire next to the track at Marsh Barton.

However, trains operating between Exeter St Davids and Newton Abbot may still be delayed by up to 30 minutes, cancelled or revised, Network Rail has said.

Disruption is expected until 3pm, the Mid-Devon Advertiser can confirm.

The fire was first reported at around 1pm today, Monday, June 2.

The fire brigade are on site and extinguishing the fire using three fire engines and a water bowser; firefighters from Bovey Tracey are among the crew.

A railway liaison officer is understood to have assisted Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service.

It is not clear exactly where the fire broke out, but it it thought to be between Marsh Barton industrial estate and Double Locks.
