BBC TV’s The Repair Shop might be one of the most popular programmes on at the moment, but Dawlish Town Council have been doing something similar for years.

Tomorrow (Saturday) sees the fifth Fix It Festival, and if you have anything broken why not take it along to The Manor House in Dawlish between 9.30am and 2.30pm.

You’ll find a team of willing and able volunteers who will fix or advise on digital and electrical items, carry out bike repairs and clothing repairs, and even carry out small welding jobs.

Organiser Cllr Alison Foden said: ‘The welder will assess if items can be repaired and take them away to his workshop.

‘The entire event will be Covid-safe. There will be a one-way system and we’re asking pople to wear face masks.

‘Refreshments will be available in compostable containers, so people can take their food and drink outside.’
