CYCLISTS are invited to Stover Country Park at the end of the month for the launch of new facilities and a range of activities.

A new cycle shelter, E-bike charger and community bike maintenance stand will be unveiled at 9:30am on on Saturday, August 30.

The cycle shelter was funded by the Co-Op’s Local Community Fund and The National Lottery Heritage Fund, the E-Bike charger was funded by Awards for All and the Friends of Stover Country Park, while the community bike maintenance stand has been funded by the South Devon CTC (Cyclists’ Touring Club) and Cycling UK.

The National Lottery Heritage Fund has funded three bikes, helmets and locks to enable Active Devon to deliver monthly adult cycling confidence courses from the country park.

An instructor will be on hand on August 30 between 10am and 4pm running sessions, which need to be booked in advance with Active Devon.

For anyone whose bicycle might be in need of a check-up, Dr Bike sessions will be held in the Community workshop between 10am and 4pm.

These have to be pre-booked here.

There is a small charge for any new bike parts used, so bring your card or cash.

A smoothie making bike will also be outside the visitor centre all day as well if you want to use pedal power to blend a delicious fruit smoothie.
