POLICE have issued a fresh appeal for information on an assault after a cyclist was punched to the floor by an attacker.

On their Facebook page this afternoon Newton Abbot Police say: ‘Police are investigating a report of an assault and are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to make contact.

‘On the 17th May 2023 between 3.30pm and 4pm the victim was riding his pushbike on Albany Street in Newton Abbot.

‘The suspect has approached him from Victoria Place and punched the victim to the face knocking him to the ground, the suspect has then run off.

‘The suspect has been arrested and is currently on bail until 28th July 2023.
