THIEVES have stolen one of Dawlish’s lovingly created yarn bombs.

A post box ‘topper’ of a seagull and two black swans had been placed on top of the post box in The Strand.

It had been made by the Knitty Noras of Dawlish who regularly decorate parts of the town with their crochet work.

A spokesman for the group said: ‘Unfortunately this topper has been stolen from outside our post office on The Strand.

other item stolen was a seagull with a chip in it's mouth!

‘Both were stolen when we have lots of visitors.

‘And the moral is, no more seagulls on our yarnbombs, which are made by volunteers to raise money for Assist Teignbridge.

‘Please let us know if you saw the perpetrators.’
