A COMBINE harvester caught fire at Ide early yesterday evening, Saturday.

Following calls to Fire Control reporting a combine harvester on fire in a field shortly after 4pm, fire engines were immediately sent from Middlemoor.

A Fire Control spokesperson said: ‘Upon arrival crews confirmed that there was a small fire in the drive belt of the Combine Harvester, informing oncoming appliances that they were no longer required.;

Crews confirmed that there was some damage to the combine harvester. The cause is believed to be accidental.
