THE Oystercatcher’s Cafe, Teignmouth, has hosted a fundraising music quiz for Rowcroft Hospice, Torquay, in memory of footballer Scott Hanks who recently died of cancer aged 42.

Former mayor Ian Parkes entertained the packed event with a music quiz from decades past.

A letter of appreciation of the hospice from Mr Hanks’ widow Sarah was read out, and a subsequent collection raised £405 for the hospice.

Oystercatcher’s owner Jan Childs said: ‘We are a very community-minded business and we were delighted to assist with this important fundraiser

‘Thank you to all my staff who supported the evening and many thanks also to Ian and town centre development manager Tracy Scranage for organising such a fun evening.’
